A Passport Case Study
The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) was overhauling its transit network with the BaltimoreLink plan to reduce wait times and create shorter, more effective routes. To showcase and compare the existing and proposed systems, the Maryland Transit Administration partnered with Passport to build the BaltimoreLink Interactive Trip Planner, a fully branded route comparison and interactive trip-planning tool for the MTA website.
Passport worked closely with MTA through weekly design and testing sessions, leveraging GTFS expertise to deliver a timely, integrated tool that shows real-time differences between current and proposed routes and provides end-to-end trip instructions. The Passport-built planner enabled riders to plan trips in one place and allowed the agency to engage the public and gather feedback; testing and rider feedback have been positive, producing a more streamlined rider experience and supporting informed route decisions.
