Case Study: Utah Transit Authority achieves mobile-first ticketing and improved rider access with Passport

A Passport Case Study

Preview of the Utah Transit Authority Case Study

Innovating Public Transportation with Mobile Technology

Utah Transit Authority (UTA), which serves 75 cities, 120 routes and six counties, needed a mobile-first solution to make transit more accessible, equitable and future-ready while helping reduce congestion and improve air quality. To simplify fare payment for a large and dispersed rider base, UTA partnered with Passport and adopted Passport’s transit management platform, including the private-label mobile ticketing app UTA GoRide.

Passport implemented its platform and UTA GoRide to enable on‑the‑go fare payments and modernize UTA’s customer experience; the solution now supports service across 75 cities, 120 routes and six counties. Passport’s long-term support and adaptable technology helped UTA streamline payments, improve rider access and position the agency for future innovations.
