Case Study: City of Austin boosts mobility management and parking revenue with Passport

A Passport Case Study

City of Austin saves $60K in parking fees with Passport

The City of Austin partnered with mobility management vendor Passport to address challenges around parking and mobility as its residential population and status as a travel destination grew rapidly. The city needed a more strategic way to manage its parking operations and required better data to make policy and pricing decisions.

Passport worked with Austin to implement its platform, beginning with a rebrand and launch of the Park ATX mobile pay app. Passport led a massive rezoning project to provide more granular data, which allowed the city to remove 603 meters, saving on maintenance costs and increasing revenue. The addition of features like 'Stop Parking' saved users over $60k in fees in one quarter. Passport’s platform integrated with other vendors and provided crucial reporting, centralizing the city's entire mobility operation and enabling new data-driven projects like digital permitting and a fleet management pilot.
