City of Asbury Park, a busy New Jersey beach town with about 1 million visitors a year, needed a more reliable and user-friendly mobile parking solution after issues with its prior provider. The city selected Passport to deliver a branded mobile payment application and supporting services (mobile monitoring app and back-end management platform) to improve the experience for residents, visitors, and enforcement officers.
Passport integrated pay-station and permit data, provided a mobile enforcement tool and real-time reporting, and used an NCPA contract to accelerate procurement—launching the app in about six weeks. The Passport solution tripled utilization within three months, improved citation accuracy and enforcement efficiency, and contributed to a projected 3X increase in parking revenue over five years.
