Opti - Customer Case Study

Opti (OptiRTC, Inc.) provides a Continuous Monitoring and Adaptive Control (CMAC) system to proactively manage stormwater and prevent nuisance flooding, non‑point pollution, and combined sewer overflows amid aging infrastructure and tight municipal budgets. To scale and stabilize its IoT deployments, Opti selected Particle—using the Electron devices, Particle’s cloud services, OTA firmware updates, and a single-point cellular MVNO—to meet tight schedules and diverse field requirements.

Particle integrated the Electron and connectivity services into Opti’s CMAC, enabling faster, more responsive devices, unified SIM/cellular management, and simpler support so Opti could replace roughly 80 legacy sites and move from concept to production in under a year. The Particle-powered solution delivered measurable impacts: Opti preemptively discharged 70 acre-feet during Hurricane Irma in Ormond Beach and kept about 2.7 million gallons out of New York’s combined sewers over six months, while reducing troubleshooting time and improving operational efficiency.
