Jacuzzi wanted to transform its hot tubs into connected, smartphone‑controllable products to improve owner experience and reduce service issues but lacked the in‑house hardware, firmware, connectivity and cloud expertise to do so. Jacuzzi partnered with Particle and adopted Particle’s end‑to‑end IoT platform — including the industrial E Series cellular hardware, Device Cloud and Device OS, plus engineering services from Particle Studios — to accelerate development and manufacturing.

Particle led hardware and firmware development, integrated remote device management (and a Salesforce interface for distributors), and delivered OTA updates and fleet management so Jacuzzi could ship SmartTub™ quickly. The result: Jacuzzi launched thousands of smart hot tubs to market in six months, expects millions in savings from predictive/preventive maintenance, increased average sale price by 6%, and plans to connect the majority of its tubs over the next five years — all enabled by Particle.
