Case Study: Niceland Seafood achieves faster spoilage claims payments and better supply chain transparency with Parsyl

A Parsyl Case Study

Preview of the Niceland Seafood Case Study

Quality, transparency and sustainability in seafood supply chains

Niceland Seafood, an Iceland-based seafood company focused on sustainability and innovation, needed a more transparent and reliable way to monitor the quality of fresh and frozen shipments moving from Iceland to U.S. distributors and retailers. They also wanted better visibility into temperature-related spoilage risk and a faster way to protect cash flow when losses occurred, using Parsyl’s monitoring and insurance solution.

Parsyl provided smart sensors, data insights, and ColdCover™ embedded insurance to track shipment temperatures, generate alerts and reports, and trigger fast claims when spoilage happened. In one case, Niceland received payment for a spoiled fresh cod shipment in under 8 hours, avoiding a traditional months-long claims process; Parsyl also helped them reduce waste, optimize packaging and shipping routes, and measure impacts such as 1d 17h 30m above 22°C and 6.39 days of fin fish shelf life lost.
