Case Study: Schering‑Plough achieves 25.5% unit-cost reduction with Parsec Automation (TrakSYS™)

A Parsec Automation Case Study

Preview of the Schering-Plough Case Study

Controlling Variability in Production Time

Schering-Plough faced inconsistent and untimely manufacturing data, wide variability in production times, schedule compliance issues, and pressure to reduce costs while maintaining quality and regulatory compliance at its São Paulo plant. To address these challenges, Schering-Plough engaged Parsec Automation and implemented the TrakSYS™ operations management solution.

Parsec Automation deployed TrakSYS™ in a distributed architecture with SENSORTrak™ data collectors and EVENTTrak™ operator nodes to deliver real‑time, plant‑wide production, quality and maintenance visibility alongside job/WIP management and scheduling. The Parsec Automation solution increased OEE and operator engagement and delivered measurable gains: 25.5% reduction in unit cost, 14% more production capacity without new equipment, 18% higher productivity (units/person/year), and a 62% decrease in overtime expenses, plus faster root‑cause analysis and improved maintenance.
