Akzo Nobel sought a paperless factory and better real-time control of its Mauá plant to establish a sustainable Lean culture, eliminate production bottlenecks, and increase filling-area efficiency. To achieve this, Akzo Nobel engaged Parsec Automation’s TrakSYS™ platform (implemented by Parsec Certified Partner HSI) to methodically manage manufacturing operations and provide accurate, real-time information for decision-making.

Parsec Automation’s TrakSYS™ solution was integrated with SAP and deployed to handle scheduling, BOM/material management, WIP tracking, OEE monitoring, Andons and mobile data collection, and workflow enforcement. The implementation improved scheduling and planning, reduced overtime and outsourced labor costs, delivered a 16% increase in on-time finished-goods delivery, cut mix-ups, exposed root causes of bottlenecks, boosted employee buy-in, and materially advanced Akzo Nobel’s Lean and continuous improvement efforts.
