Lancaster Parking Authority sought to modernize parking operations in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, improve customer service, and give drivers an alternative to carrying coins—all without major capital investment in new meters. After an RFP process the Authority selected ParkMobile and its mobile parking app to integrate with existing single-space meters and kiosks and make compliance easier for drivers.

ParkMobile’s app was deployed with minimal disruption and steadily gained users, especially over the first three years; monthly transactions rose from about 1,000 at launch in 2015 to more than 9,500 by July 2018—an 850% increase. The ParkMobile solution reduced friction for customers, boosted on-street payment compliance, and delivered measurable growth in digital payments while avoiding large hardware expenditures.
