The City of Grand Rapids partnered with ParkHub to improve parking management as part of a broader multimodal mobility strategy. Faced with rapid urban development, nearly 10,000 public parking spaces to manage, and the perception of a downtown “parking crisis,” the city needed better parking data integration and a faster way to support policy decisions.

ParkHub’s Smarking BI solution centralized the city’s historical and real-time parking data, making it easier to analyze usage, implement policies, and onboard new vendors. The city also used the platform to support mixed-use parking, event parking rate studies, and mobility marketing efforts, resulting in a 10-fold productivity increase for the parking management team, better stakeholder communication, and cost savings from avoiding manual data collection and expensive market research.
