Business Intelligence for Parking – Leveraging ParkHub’s BI Tool at Macerich

Macerich, a commercial real estate investment company, needed a better way to track parking occupancy and turnover across its retail properties while keeping shoppers satisfied. The team was looking for a solution from ParkHub to help them manage paid parking more effectively and make informed decisions about parking rates, using a business intelligence tool for parking.

ParkHub implemented its business intelligence platform, used in the case study as JustPark’s “Smarking BI” tool, to measure the impact of parking rate changes at two properties. Macerich increased multiple rate tiers at one location and raised the $5/hour rate to $6/hour at another, and the results showed sustained traffic with higher transaction volume after the change, indicating the rate increase did not reduce demand while helping improve revenue and turnover.
