Georgetown Law Center: Assurance for Critical System Uptime

Georgetown University Law School needed reliable, cost-effective support for aging Dell data center hardware across its main data center and backup facility. As many of its Dell PowerEdge servers and a Dell PowerVault 770N NAS approached end of service life, IT Director Matthew Bates had to find a support option that could help the school maintain uptime without forcing premature hardware replacements.

Park Place Technologies provided third-party maintenance for Georgetown Law’s Dell servers, including legacy models that Dell no longer supported. By using Park Place Technologies, the law school extended the life of its equipment, maintained comparable service levels to OEM support, and reduced costs—so much so that Park Place quoted support for all of the data center servers at a lower price than Dell quoted for only some of them.
