A Parity Case Study
201 East 79th Street is a 20-floor, 168-unit co-op building in Manhattan constructed in 1963. The building, which uses a central system with fan coil units for heating and cooling, engaged Parity to reduce its utility costs and improve operational efficiency.
Parity implemented its remote optimization service for the building's systems, including the chiller, cooling tower, pumps, and ventilation. The results far exceeded projections, with actual first-year savings of $104,003—3.5 times greater than the guaranteed amount. The investment paid for itself in just 8 months instead of the projected 1.96 years. Additionally, Parity helped prevent 156 tons of CO2 emissions, reducing the building's potential exposure to LL97 fines by $41,964.
