Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart (OLIH) in the Diocese of Des Moines is a large, hospitality-focused parish of over 2,500 families committed to better welcoming newcomers and keeping parishioner records current. Despite a redesigned website, parish app, and a technology committee, staff faced the recurring operational burden of managing census updates, ministry data and thousands of year-end giving statements.

OLIH leveraged ParishSOFT’s Family Suite and the My Own Church portal, promoting it through the website, bulletin and email with clear instructions. The portal enabled parishioners to update profiles and access giving statements themselves; over 800 families signed up, staff printed only about 50 statements at year-end, and religious-education enrollment updates for 1,000+ children were streamlined—significantly reducing staff workload and improving data accuracy and communication.
