The customer, El Paso Regional Communications Center, faced the challenge of adding artistic interest to a simple warehouse-style building while also reducing solar heat gain on its south-facing windows. They also wanted to achieve a rusted steel aesthetic without associated staining or high maintenance. The vendor, Parasoleil, provided a solution using their Cor11 aluminum panels in the Continental Flower pattern.
Parasoleil's solution involved mounting these pre-drilled panels onto tube steel frames offset from the building's facade. This approach provided visual interest and functional solar filtration, creating a beautiful and maintenance-free shading solution. The installation achieved the desired rusted steel look without any of the negative maintenance issues, while also helping to reduce the mechanical cooling load.
