Capitol View Library completes $8.6M renovation with Parasoleil

The Capitol View Library in Washington, D.C., required a renovation to modernize its 1965 building and rejuvenate it as a community heartbeat. The challenge was to create an exterior that would instill a sense of local pride and ownership. For this project, Parasoleil provided its patterned aluminum panels for use as cladding.

Parasoleil implemented a solution using its Shattered-patterned aluminum panels, which were directly mounted to the masonry façade. This approach, inspired by a nearby national museum, gave the building a modern, geometric feel that was specially chosen by the community through a vote. The result was a profoundly artistic exterior that achieved the ultimate goal of evoking pride and ownership from neighborhood residents, successfully marking the library as something special.
