A Parasoft Case Study
WoodmenLife, a not‑for‑profit fraternal benefit society founded in 1890 and based in Omaha, provides life insurance, annuities and retirement products. As the company migrated from waterfall to Agile, QA leader Danny Oslin faced a major challenge: replace slow, UI‑centric testing with an automated, shift‑left approach that embeds quality earlier in the lifecycle and supports a true CI/CD pipeline.
Using Parasoft (SOAtest, Virtualize, CTP) and a collaborative "Three Amigos" workflow, the team shifted testing to unit and API/service levels with service virtualization, change‑based testing and clear code‑coverage visibility. The result: manual UI testing time fell by 98% (a four‑week manual cycle cut to three hours per release), saving roughly 500 hours per month (~6,000 hours/year), eliminating invalid payment test records, increasing code coverage and tester efficiency, and enabling a scalable path to continuous integration and delivery.
