Thales Cuts Time Between Releases & Feedback From Tests With Automation

Thales, a global supplier of naval combat systems and sensors, confronted a fragmented, heterogeneous test environment that made regression test automation difficult. Testers struggled to understand multiple in‑house tools and radar applications (implemented in C/C++, Java, MATLAB), connect with web/SOAP services, run tests across multiple targets, and create tests usable by non‑programmers and domain engineers.

Thales introduced Parasoft SOAtest as a test orchestrator to abstract underlying technologies and integrate existing tools (including MATLAB and Jenkins), enabling easier test creation, automation, and reuse by testers and domain experts. As a result, feedback cycles after releases shrank, deliveries sped up, more tests are run across radar products, test reuse saves time and cost, and cross‑discipline collaboration and product quality improved.
