SELEX Increases Efficiency with Automated Defect Prevention

SELEX Sistemi Integrati, a Finmeccanica company that designs large homeland-protection systems (radar, battlefield management, naval and air/airport traffic systems), employs about 4,200 people and serves clients in 150 countries. Focused on optimizing internal processes, SELEX set out to eliminate defects earlier in the software development lifecycle to reduce downstream testing time and improve on-time, on-budget delivery.

To accomplish this, SELEX deployed Parasoft’s development testing platform for C, C++ and Java—building on 20 years of experience with Insure++—and rapidly integrated static and flow analysis into projects. The solution increased software-component stability, reduced late-stage testing time, freed resources to address critical business needs, improved development cost/time/resource efficiency, and added automation and visibility to verification; partners and suppliers subsequently adopted the same tools.
