Reducing the Infrastructure Costs Associated with Staged Test Environments

A global insurance provider needed seven distinct test environments for a new application, each requiring data from more than 20 back-end systems. Building and stabilizing those environments would take weeks and require licensing an MQ broker at about €100,000 per environment, creating a large cost and time barrier to testing.

The team used Parasoft Virtualize to emulate the back-end services so the application could route traffic to virtual assets instead of the costly MQ-driven systems. This cut the dependency on live systems, drastically reduced licensing costs, simplified environment setup and maintenance, and enabled broader, earlier testing—capabilities the organization plans to adopt earlier in future projects.
