QinetiQ Space N.V., the Belgian space division of QinetiQ Corporation, develops high-reliability avionics, propulsion, robotic and small-satellite systems that operate in harsh space environments. As their products grew in software content and complexity, management faced rising risk from software bugs and needed a dependable way to manage software quality and comply with strict ECSS/EN 9100 standards.

To address this, QinetiQ integrated Parasoft C/C++test into their CI workflow to perform MISRA static analysis, unit testing, test-coverage measurement and configurable coding rules. The result was roughly a 75% reduction in Software Problem Reports, improved “first-time-right” product quality through self-verification and objective metrics, and long-term adoption of the tool across embedded projects.
