A Parasoft Case Study
IMA, a global designer and manufacturer of implants and packaging equipment for the food and pharmaceutical industries (founded 1961, ~3,400 employees, 22 plants), faced the challenge of proving compliance with stringent pharmaceutical software and system lifecycle standards. Manual verification of thousands of lines of code was time-consuming, hard to document and not easily reusable across machines, creating high cost and audit risk.
To address this, IMA adopted Parasoft’s static analysis tools—initially CodeWizard and later C/C++test—using a configurable rule set and RuleWizard to define custom coding guidelines. The automated static analysis, unit testing and runtime checks made compliance tasks systematic and faster, produced attachable, less-contestable reports for audits, and reduced the time and cost of regulatory compliance with minimal extra developer effort.
