Cisco’s Datacenter Switching and Security Technology Group (DSSTG) delivers mission-critical composite applications to Global 1000 clients and needed near-zero tolerance for defects. Their homegrown Java-based integration test framework was unintuitive and limited QA productivity and coverage, blocking wider adoption of test-driven development and slowing delivery.

DSSTG standardized on Parasoft SOAtest and TDD so developers and QA jointly create, reuse and extend automated API tests, with the QA team running the full regression suite daily. The change produced a 25% increase in regression test coverage, a 50% rise in test-case productivity, earlier bug detection, less rework and improved security testing.
