A Parasoft Case Study
Aeroplan, a global loyalty-marketing company, faced a tight six-month deadline to deliver more than 50 outward-facing web services across seven environments as part of an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) project. With limited QA resources and complex service sequences that required parameter passing between calls, the team needed faster, more thorough testing than the vendor’s manual processes could provide.
Aeroplan adopted Parasoft SOAtest to automate functional and regression testing, building GUI-driven tests without coding and validating service chains before QA handoff. The automation let the team run 282 tests per day (versus ~12 manual tests), saved an estimated $10,000, improved back-end visibility and overall quality, and enabled the project to meet all milestones—prompting plans to expand SOAtest across future ESB phases.
