How Medica used Parashift’s IDP platform to improve data processing and save time and money

Medica, a nonprofit health plan serving nearly 1 million members across nine states, needed a better way to manage provider and practitioner demographic data. The company was processing more than 1,700 handwritten and typed forms each month, with hundreds to over a thousand data points per form, and manual handling was slow, costly, and prone to errors. Medica turned to Parashift’s Intelligent Document Processing platform to automate data extraction and improve accuracy.

Parashift worked with Medica and Symfact to first configure the forms on its IDP platform and then integrate extraction directly into Symfact so staff could work in one system. The solution eliminated manual data entry, homegrown macros, and spreadsheet imports, while speeding request creation, reducing keying errors, and supporting multiple form types. Parashift helped Medica save time and money and submit changes into its systems more efficiently.
