The Municipality of El Prat de Llobregat enables remote working with Parallels Secure Workspace

The Municipality of El Prat de Llobregat needed a fast, secure way to support remote work and digital signatures for its staff during 2020, without relying on complicated VPN setups or fully managed laptops for hundreds of users. Working with its IT partner Indigo, the city evaluated options and selected Parallels Secure Workspace for a proof of concept to meet the municipality’s security, access, and deployment needs.

Parallels Secure Workspace was implemented on-premises to provide secure browser-based access to apps and desktops, with built-in MFA and Active Directory integration, while also supporting digital signatures and connections for concession-managed entities. The result was a simpler, faster, and more affordable deployment; the first phase enabled remote work for 50 users, with rollout planned to expand to 800 users, and the municipality reported improved usability and strong user satisfaction.
