St. Margaret’s Hospice Care uses Parallels Secure Workspace for secure remote access for staff and external contractors

St. Margaret’s Hospice Care, a UK palliative care charity, needed a more secure and scalable way to support remote access for a growing mobile workforce, especially during the pandemic when remote users jumped from 10–15 to more than 100 at once. Its legacy VPN approach was limited to corporate devices, raised security concerns, and was difficult to manage for staff and external contractors.

Parallels Secure Workspace gave St. Margaret’s Hospice Care browser-based access to apps, desktops, and files through integration with Active Directory, along with SSO, built-in MFA, and auditing. Parallels helped the hospice roll out access quickly with fewer support issues, easier onboarding for external NHS consultants, and better visibility into usage; today, about 25% of usage supports clinical services.
