Orchestr8, a UK-based SaaS provider of supply chain and inventory-management solutions for blue-chip clients, needed to publish a custom IE11-based browser (which injects JavaScript for server-side screenshots) along with other apps and desktops to remote users. Their existing Citrix Presentation Server 4.5 setup was complex to manage on 32-bit Windows, had client inconsistencies and unreliable support, raised bandwidth concerns, and incurred high licensing costs, so they sought a more cost-effective, simpler alternative.

They implemented Parallels Remote Application Server with Windows Remote Desktop Services, using publishing agents, server load balancing and the Parallels portal; after addressing initial firewall and port placement questions the deployment proved straightforward.
