Aspire Indiana achieves secure access to EMR software with Parallels RAS

Aspire Indiana needed a lower-cost, less complex way to provide secure remote access to its electronic medical record (EMR) system, Microsoft Office, and web apps without compromising patient data. The organization had been using Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop, but wanted a simpler virtualization solution that could support remote access from devices like Chromebooks and work through an HTML5 browser. Parallels RAS was selected to meet these needs.

Parallels RAS delivered secure EMR access through an HTML5 gateway, allowing Aspire Indiana to use low-cost Google Chromebooks without installing software on end-user devices. The result was faster deployment, stronger flexibility for employees, improved mobility, and reduced hardware and total cost of ownership. According to Aspire Indiana, the migration took only a few hours instead of weeks, while Parallels RAS also helped cut costs across the board.
