Major Health System Refreshes Nearly 2,000 Legacy Servers with the Help of Paradigm Team

Largest Health Systems, one of the country’s largest health systems with nearly 40 hospitals and more than 400 care centers across three states, needed to refresh nearly 2,000 legacy servers to meet CMS requirements for Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Programs. With a deadline at the end of 2017, the organization faced a shortage of qualified infrastructure architects, aging unsupported hardware, and the risk of losing incentive payments if its systems were not certified for Meaningful Use Stages 2–3. Paradigm Technology helped the customer build a team quickly to tackle the large-scale server conversion effort.

Paradigm Technology assembled infrastructure architects and build engineers to support the refresh program, maintaining low turnover and reducing the burden of onboarding and training. Over two years, Paradigm Technology improved the server support ratio from 100:1 to 150:1, a 33% increase in support coverage versus the industry average, while delivering the project months ahead of schedule. This reduced support costs and lowered the risk of CMS non-compliance and associated fines.
