Altru Health System Improves Clinical Research Efficiency and Access for Underserved Patient Populations

Altru Health System, a non-profit community healthcare provider, faced challenges in efficiently offering clinical trials as a care option to its widespread rural patient population. Their Research Department was burdened by manual processes and disparate data systems, which limited their capacity to pre-screen patients outside the main cancer center. Partnering with Paradigm Health, their objective was to increase clinical trial access, leverage technology to drive efficiency, and reduce staff burden.

Paradigm Health implemented its Platform and clinical services, integrating Altru's disparate data to enable system-wide, data-driven patient pre-screening. This solution allowed the Altru Research Department to effectively identify eligible patients across all locations. As a result, Paradigm Health helped increase annual pre-screening from 10,200 to over 21,200 cancer patient visits. Most significantly, clinical trial enrollment for cancer patients rose from 4% to 11% of the population, dramatically improving access to novel treatments for this rural community.
