How Wipro cracked the code on leveraging the public cloud

Wipro, a global IT services leader, needed a more secure way to back up employee desktop and laptop data after disallowing USB-drive backups due to data leakage risks. As the company advanced its Microsoft cloud transformation, it also wanted a cloud-based backup approach that could better protect sensitive employee data while supporting its large, distributed workforce. Parablu Inc’s BluVault and BluKrypt products were evaluated to address this challenge.

Parablu Inc implemented a privacy-gateway-based solution that encrypted backup data on-premise before sending it to Microsoft Azure, keeping Wipro in control of the encryption keys and ensuring data remained protected at rest in the cloud. BluVault also provided centralized backup and recovery, deduplication, retention policies, self-service restores, and enterprise features like bandwidth optimization and compliance reporting. The result was a scalable, secure backup solution that improved cloud confidence, reduced endpoint processing burden, and enabled seamless access across locations without sacrificing performance or usability.
