In a Remote Reality, This Denver Principal is Prioritizing Constant Touchpoints for Students

Denver Public Schools, through John F. Kennedy High School and Principal Tiffany Almon, faced the challenge of supporting students in a remote-learning environment where families and students needed more consistent academic help, especially during stressful pandemic conditions. The school also had to manage a semester-block schedule, IB coursework, and students working on assignments at all hours, which made timely teacher support difficult. Paper provided an online tutoring and academic support platform to meet those needs.

Paper implemented a school-wide partnership that gave 882 students unlimited, 24/7 multilingual academic support, helping create constant touchpoints for learning outside of class hours. The district also planned PBIS incentives and teacher PD to help students and staff use the tool effectively. While specific outcome metrics were not provided, Paper was positioned as a key resource to reduce frustration, support remote engagement, and help students manage learning across multiple courses and schedules.
