How Woodside High School Teachers Supported Learning During COVID-19

Sequoia Union High School District used Paper, an on-demand tutoring and academic support platform, to help Woodside High School teachers keep students engaged and accountable during the sudden shift to remote learning caused by COVID-19. Their challenge was maintaining student participation and tracking learning progress without regular face-to-face interaction.

To address this, Paper was used alongside student tutoring logs so learners had to reflect on their confusion and session takeaways after each visit, while teachers could review session history and monitor needs through the dashboard. The approach drove a 503% increase in student engagement across SUHSD, with Woodside High School accounting for a 249% increase, while also helping teachers reinforce instruction and support retention.
