Legend Merchant Group, a New York–based financial services firm with offices in San Francisco and Ft. Lauderdale, faced growing pains from a fragmented, on‑premise communications setup. Their PBX and disparate collaboration tools (PC Anywhere, GoToMeeting, consumer IMs) were costly to add and maintain, hard to integrate, insecure for archived messaging, and slowed employee onboarding and office expansion.
Legend replaced the legacy stack with PanTerra’s WorldSmart™ on‑demand unified communications—SaaS voice, secure IM with message archiving, web/audio conferencing, desktop sharing and a softphone integrated in the IM client. The result: monthly communications costs fell by more than half, upfront equipment and maintenance were eliminated, disaster recovery and virtual office capability improved, and staff productivity and responsiveness increased as services were rapidly scaled to additional offices.
