Palm Springs Unified Shares Key Takeaways on Making the Most of Climate Surveys for LCAP

Palm Springs Unified School District worked with Panorama Education to address low family engagement on its Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) survey. The district also found that having multiple survey windows was arduous and time-consuming for school teams, and it needed a way to streamline survey administration and improve response rates.

With Panorama Education’s Feedback Surveys, PSUSD moved to one primary survey window for all stakeholders and combined LCAP questions with family survey questions to make participation easier. The district also used site-based survey coordinators and reviewed survey topics annually. These changes helped boost response rates, peaking at 6,815 responses in 2019-20, and gave the district more useful feedback for school climate, family engagement, and district decisions.
