A Panorama Education Case Study
North Kansas City Schools, a large and diverse district in Missouri, faced challenges with declining student engagement and sense of belonging from kindergarten through high school. To address this, the district partnered with Panorama Education and utilized Panorama Surveys to gather critical student feedback and measure progress against their newly developed "Portrait of a Graduate" competencies.
Panorama Education worked with the district to map their graduate competencies to survey topics, providing the data needed to design a solution. This led North Kansas City to establish elementary microschools focused on project-based learning and portfolio assessments, and to launch college-career pathways for high school students. The results were significant, with elementary students scoring in the 90th percentile for Growth Mindset. Secondary microschool students showed measurable gains, including a 15% increase in engagement and an 8% increase in sense of belonging compared to their peers.
