How San Francisco Unified Engages in Continuous Improvement Every Year With Panorama Climate and SEL Data

San Francisco Unified School District uses Panorama Education to measure school climate and culture alongside academic, behavior, and SEL data. The district serves 52,000 students and wanted a way to understand well-being and outcome data as part of its whole-child approach and continuous improvement work.

With Panorama Education, SFUSD has measured climate and culture since 2015-16 across nearly 100,000 students, teachers, staff, and families. The district uses year-over-year reports, disaggregation by student group, and summative school site reports to guide improvement cycles; at one school site, Sense of Belonging increased 12% for students and 14% for staff, and SFUSD says the data has sparked new interest and investment in using data to drive school improvement.
