Seamlessly Moving 15,000+ Courses to a New LMS and Video Management System

Northeastern University, a large private research institution with more than 15,000 courses, needed to move from Blackboard to Canvas and from Kaltura to Panopto. The planned, gradual migration was accelerated by COVID-19 as the university rapidly shifted to online and hybrid teaching, creating an urgent need to transfer course and video content accurately and quickly.

Northeastern engaged K16 Solutions to automate the migration, replacing obsolete links and remapping Kaltura videos to Panopto. The automated process added 128,870 videos to Panopto, established a consistent video management approach in the LMS, and enabled faculty and students to resume teaching and learning with minimal disruption.
