Saint Louis University migrates 20 terabytes of course video with Panopto

Saint Louis University (SLU) faced significant challenges with its legacy lecture capture system, which had become outdated and difficult to use, causing frustration among faculty and students. The university needed a new video solution that was easy to use, flexible, and could integrate with its existing classroom technology and learning management system to support a wide range of teaching pedagogies. Panopto provided an end-to-end video solution that included multi-camera recording, management tools, online editing, and scalable captioning. The implementation was supported by Panopto's responsive customer service and dedicated training sessions. A major success was the migration of over 20 terabytes of existing course videos into the new Panopto library, a process that was completed much faster than anticipated with the vendor's migration tool. The solution was unanimously endorsed by faculty and students, leading to successful campus-wide adoption.
