Framatome, an international leader in nuclear energy with a safety-first culture, faced a pressing knowledge‑transfer challenge as experienced staff retired and decades of technical expertise existed in scattered text, images, and video across on‑premises servers. The variety of formats, multiple recording tools, poor searchability, and limited mobile access created discovery barriers that hindered efficient training and the preservation of critical institutional knowledge.

Framatome piloted and then rolled out Panopto’s cloud video content management system to centralize assets, standardize recording and publishing through governance, and enable hardware‑agnostic access with smart search and regional permissions. Launched in April 2020 after a successful 150‑user trial, the platform now hosts over 1,000 videos, boosts peer‑to‑peer sharing and mobile access, and has improved discoverability and collaboration while Framatome continues to refine permission granularity.
