Skyline College, a San Mateo County community college serving more than 17,000 students across 100+ programs, needed to rapidly reassess its classroom technology when the COVID-19 pandemic forced a sudden shift to remote learning. The college required flexible video tools and practical faculty training to support instruction across remote, hybrid, and in-person modalities.

The district adopted Panopto for video recording and management and launched a Quality Online Teaching and Learning certification—675 of 715 faculty completed it within four months—enabling fast adoption through Canvas integration and straightforward workflows. Faculty now use Panopto’s analytics to spot where students pause or rewatch content, inform course improvements, and expand hybrid teaching approaches, boosting engagement and learning outcomes.
