Seminole State College, a public Florida college serving over 30,000 students, faced growing pains as faculty and departments independently adopted video tools. A patchwork of solutions (Adobe, Camtasia and others) created problems with storage, editing, sharing, streaming, and analytics, so the eLearning team sought a single enterprise video platform and evaluated Kaltura and Panopto.

They selected Panopto and integrated it with Canvas, rolling out features like Remote Recorder scheduling, simple live streaming, centralized storage, and mobile capture for assignments. The platform reduced media-services workload, improved playback and sharing, provided analytics for faculty, and enabled use cases from flipped chemistry lectures to “shift‑friendly” EMS classes and streamed concerts—driving campus-wide adoption and supporting expanded online offerings.
