Faster, Smarter Training Building A More Proficient Workforce With Panopto

Toyoda Iron Works Co. Ltd. (TOYOTETSU), a Japan-based press parts manufacturer, faced training and knowledge-transfer challenges as its workforce aged and more migrant workers joined the company. Handwritten notes, checklists, and gesture-based instruction made training inconsistent, slowed onboarding, and created language barriers. TOYOTETSU turned to Panopto’s video content management platform to standardize and improve training across its factories.

Using Panopto, Toyoda Iron Works centralized training videos, added QR codes on equipment for just-in-time mobile access, and used captions and translation support for multilingual workers. The results were significant: onboarding time was cut in half from 40 to 20 hours, and National Trades Skills Test pass rates improved by 24%. With Panopto, TOYOTETSU also improved knowledge sharing, flexibility, and worker upskilling.
