Governo Povo do Acre - Customer Case Study

Governo Povo do Acre faced the challenge of monitoring a large, state-wide “Floresta digital” project to bring free Internet to citizens across 22 counties (initially targeting 16), needing a management and control system for servers, routers, switches and directional/omni radios after Nagios, Zabbix and Zenoss proved inadequate. They selected Pandora FMS to provide a scalable, easy-to-use monitoring platform tailored to their open-source Linux environment.

Pandora FMS was deployed on a Debian virtual machine with internal and external web consoles, GIS integration (via Google API), SNMP monitoring, alerts and an SSH gateway, enabling visibility of ~350 devices over VPN with plans for ~800 devices. Using Pandora FMS’s network and GIS maps plus alerts, the Governo Povo do Acre can rapidly identify failures, prioritize replacements and avoid unnecessary technician trips—delivering measurable scope (350 devices monitored, scaling to 800) and tangible cost savings in travel, fuel and personnel time.
