A Panaya Case Study
Newell Rubbermaid, a $6.4B consumer-products company running SAP since 2007, faced a hard September 23, 2009 deadline to decide whether to proceed with an ERP 6.0 upgrade. Global Director Glenn Griffin had to balance business demand for new ERP features and technical needs for ABAP Web Dynpro against the risk that missing the cut-off would push the upgrade out a year.
After evaluating tools, the team chose Panaya, whose analysis identified ~4,300 issues and let Newell’s offshore developers target fixes quickly. The upgrade was completed in two months (excluding testing) — half the time it would have taken otherwise — and testing report problems fell from ~3,800 in 2007 to 172, a 95% reduction, allowing the company to finish on schedule and ahead of expectations.
