Atos Uses Panaya to Ensure Smooth ERP 6.0 Upgrades

Atos Thailand, part of global IT services firm Atos, led a massive SAP ERP 6.0 upgrade for a client running SAP 4.6C for 12 years across 30 countries and more than 150 regional entities, affecting 12,000 users. The project required three staged rollouts (South America, China, rest of the southern hemisphere) and faced an uncompromising deadline to complete systems before August 1, 2012, creating significant risk from legacy code, customizations and potential post-upgrade incidents.

Atos used Panaya’s CloudQuality suite after a trial analysis identified more than 10,000 objects needing adjustment; Panaya’s combined impact analysis and project-tracking capabilities allowed prioritized fixes and cleaner code. The engagement cut code-correction effort by about 15%, saved an estimated €150,000 in upgrade expenses, resulted in smoother go-lives with fewer incidents, and delivered a demonstrably cleaner system.
