Siemens PLM Software Enhances Product Design with Faster Simulations

Siemens PLM Software, part of Siemens’ Digital Factory Division, needed to remove storage bottlenecks that were slowing CFD and multidisciplinary design exploration simulations, while also reducing administration time and ensuring high reliability for mission-critical workloads. The company turned to Panasas and its ActiveStor storage platform to support its growing simulation environment.

Panasas benchmarked the environment, replaced legacy network-attached storage, and deployed more than 3 petabytes of storage. As a result, Siemens PLM Software could run multiple CFD simulations without disrupting other users, cut storage management overhead, and achieve the reliable, high-performance operation it needed for mission-critical systems.
