A Palo Alto Networks Case Study
Uwharrie Bank, a community bank in Albemarle, NC, was rolling out interactive teller machines (ITMs) that rely on videoconferencing and needed to prioritize that traffic while maintaining high branch availability. The bank also wanted to move away from complex router CLI management, gain application-level visibility, and simplify failover and network-wide changes.
By deploying Palo Alto Networks Prisma SD‑WAN, Uwharrie gained automated topology, simple QoS and policy-based application control, centralized orchestration, and real-time analytics. The result: seamless failover during a metro Ethernet outage (no branch impact during the proof of concept), faster branch deployments and network changes, improved application performance for ITMs, and reduced operational complexity.
